Code Zone is a summer program designed for children ages 10 through to 18 from diverse backgrounds to primarily learn coding specifically HTML, CSS & Javascript. They also get involved in collaborative learning and problem solving. Through hands on project that they are given to deliver, CODE Zone participants get involved in a variety of activities, they have the opportunity to learn and have fun while doing it. They are able to somewhat better understand what drives the world, they get a sense of personal challenge.

The program offers a blend of educational, recreational and social activities that are aligned with Code Zone mission to build children’s capacity so that they become active participants in shaping the future they are growing into.

We have a dream that someday soon, our children’s names will feature alongside famous names that started coding early and created programs that have impacted the world, such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Daphne Koller, Jack Dorsey, Danielle Feinberg, Steve Wozniak etc.

>Depending on the age group Code Zone is in 3 categories; Pre -Teens (10 -13 years), Teens (14 – 18 years), Adults (19 and Above). All categories start on August 2 and ends on August 31. 2021 at the cost of N30,000 per participant. Participants must also have a laptop or Desktop to participate.

This year we will be giving out prizes to the best 3 participants, who promptly come to class, interact and make contributions as well as succefully finish and present their projects.

Code Zone for Teens aged 1418

This coding program has both Basic & Intermediate levels. Basic is designed for the teenagers who are just getting introduced to Coding so they can relate with the language of technology from now into the future. Intermediate on the other hand is designed for those who want to improve their knowledge in programming specifically JavaScript to the extent of keeping up with the pace of innovation. Teenagers will be encouraged to develop ideas they are passionate so they can carry it through to fusion even after the program. They will have an opportunity to meet new people, interact, review their work to make positive input as well as take input from others. All activities will be directed to ensure setting right objectives, social responsibility, creative and critical thinking.
